Congratulations to our graduates this year. They will be going onto kindergarten next year, but will always be a part of our school family. We have added their names to our tree outside the classroom as a reminder. To all our parents a special thanks for a wonderful year. Hope everyone enjoys their photo CDs which covers the entire school year from beginning to end.
Happy summer.

April 2009
After a restful spring break the children sprung into action working on their Mother's Day gifts. They created necklaces and bracelets made from clay and water bottles. They hand painted and strung their necklaces for each mom. The water bottle bracelets were afixed with tissue paper and glue for a stainglass look. The children worked hard for two weeks preparing for the Mother's Day shabbat where they presented their gifts to their moms. The children also cooked banana muffins for their mothers and served them with fresh strawberries. It was a delightful time had by all.

Spring time...
From our Purmin carnival to our Passover sedar we have been busy in between... Our art studio has taken on a life of its own with an eight foot long dragon taken up residence. Frogs are jumping everywhere in our room because the Pharoah will not listen. We have been listening to the story of baby Moses and learning about the 10 plagues. We have created a sedar plate for Passover. We have been looking for the afikomen each day in class. Our spring cleaning will be completed by the time we leave for break.
Pesach is here and yummy things will be in my tummy.
Model sedar is on Friday, March 3 at 11:00 a.m. Please be sure to join us.

Tu B'Shevat
We enjoyed our picnic lunch with dried fruits and fresh fruit salad. We put apple, orange, grapefruit, pear, and banana in our class salad. We also turned over our garden and planted new lettuce, turnip, and radish seeds for Passover.

We have been talking about trees and all that we get from them. Monday we will have a picnic to celebrate Tu B'Shavet with our teachers and cantor. Trees are important because they help us breathe. They gives us fruit to eat. They also make paper.

Yam class
January has been a great month for exploring snow, winter, and penguins. The students built a rookery right inside the classroom. We have been reading the adventures of Mr. Popper and his penguin in Stillwater. He is a house painter who would love to visit the South Pole but ends up having a penguin for a pet instead. Stay tune to see what happens.
